maame ("the app") is published by AXIS Productions ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data maame uses, where it goes, and the choices you have. If you have a question, email contact@maame.fit.
The short version
- Your data stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud account. We don't run servers that store your health or training data, and we can't see it.
- We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
- Your data only leaves Apple's services in two cases, and both are your choice: when you use the Gemini AI coach, a summary of your recent data goes to Google to write your plan; and when you connect intervals.icu, the app downloads your data from your own intervals.icu account.
- The Apple Intelligence coach runs entirely on your iPhone. Nothing leaves the device.
Data maame uses
From Apple Health (read only, with your permission): resting heart rate, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), sleep, steps, active energy, walking/running, cycling and swimming distance, workouts, weight, body fat percentage, height, date of birth and biological sex. maame never writes to Apple Health.
From intervals.icu (optional): daily wellness (HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, fitness, fatigue and form, weight, and any mood, fatigue, soreness, stress, motivation and injury ratings you record there) and your activities (type, duration, distance, power, heart rate and training load). Your intervals.icu API key and athlete ID are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device and are only sent to intervals.icu.
What you enter in the app: your profile (height, weight, body composition, date of birth, sex, usual activities and units), fasting sessions, supplements, doses you log and reminder schedules.
What the coach produces: your daily plan and weekly review are saved in the app. Conversations in Ask Coach are not saved and end when you close them.
Where your data is stored
Everything above is stored in the app on your iPhone. If iCloud is turned on for maame, it is also synced to your private iCloud database, so it appears on your other devices. Apple stores and encrypts this data. It is tied to your Apple Account, and we have no access to it.
The AI coach
You choose which AI coach maame uses, and you can change it at any time in Settings.
Apple Intelligence (on-device). Runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple's on-device model. Your data is not sent anywhere.
Gemini (Google). Nothing is sent to Gemini until you give permission in the app. After that, each time the coach writes a plan, a weekly review or a chat reply, maame sends Google:
- a summary of your last 7 days of wellness data (14 days for the weekly review), your recent activities and training load, your recent fasts and today's supplements
- your age, sex, weight, body fat percentage and usual activities
- the app's own readiness score and the reasons for it
- your messages, if you use Ask Coach
maame does not send your name, email address, Apple Account, intervals.icu credentials or any device identifiers as part of these requests.
Requests go through Google Firebase AI Logic to Google's Gemini API. Google processes them to generate the reply, under the Gemini API terms for paid services: Google does not use your prompts or the replies to train or improve its models. Google may keep them for a limited time to detect abuse and meet legal requirements. See the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
You can withdraw permission at any time in Settings → AI Coach. maame then stops sending data to Gemini. Data already sent is handled under Google's terms described above.
AI-generated advice can be wrong. It is general guidance, not medical advice. Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise program or making big lifestyle changes.
Google Firebase services
maame uses these Google Firebase services to run the Gemini coach and keep it secure:
- Firebase Authentication (anonymous). Gives your installation a random ID. It contains no name, email or other personal details.
- Firebase App Check. Uses Apple's App Attest to confirm that requests come from the genuine maame app.
- Cloud Firestore. Stores which AI coach you've chosen, linked to the random ID.
- Firebase Remote Config. Downloads settings, such as which Gemini model to use.
Like any online service, these receive technical information such as your IP address and app instance identifiers. Google processes this on our behalf. See Privacy and Security in Firebase.
What we don't do
- No advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.
- We don't sell, rent or trade your data.
- Health data is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining. It is only used to provide maame's features, as described above.
Notifications
Fasting and supplement reminders and the daily plan notification are scheduled on your iPhone. No notification server is involved.
Keeping or deleting your data
- Settings → Erase all data deletes your wellness data, activities, fasts, supplements, profile and coach history from this device and from your iCloud, and deletes the coach choice stored in Firestore.
- Deleting the app removes the data stored on the device. Data synced to iCloud can be managed in the iOS Settings app under your name → iCloud.
- You can remove maame's access to Apple Health at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → maame.
- If you've already deleted the app, email us to delete the coach choice stored in Firestore. It is linked only to a random ID, which you'll find as the Support ID in About maame. We can't find it any other way.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. Most of your data is under your control directly in the app and in iCloud. For anything else, email us and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where data is processed
Google may process the data it receives in the United States and other countries where it operates, with safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
maame is not intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
Security
Credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain, all connections use encryption (HTTPS), and App Check blocks requests that don't come from the genuine app. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data that leaves your device to a minimum.
Terms of use
Your use of maame is governed by Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app when the change is significant.
